Patio Kits Direct, Inc. is a supplier for Amerimax Building Products (Alumawood) and Duralum Products (Weatherwood). Patio Kits Direct orders material from the manufacturer chosen based on the most cost effective option for the customer’s design and which engineering is superior for customer’s custom application. Should you require a specific manufacturer’s product, please relay this to your Design Representative at the time of your quote.
The Limited Lifetime warranty available on the material ordered is held by the manufacturer, Amerimax Building Products. Please review the manufacturer’s warranty details below:
Amerimax Exterior Home Products, Norcross, Georgia (hereinafter referred to as “Amerimax”) warrants that its Alumawood Lattice, Patio Cover, Carport, and Awning products manufactured by Amerimax which are installed at the location shown on this warranty certificate will not split, and the finish will not chip, peel, flake or blister under conditions of normal wear for the life of the original retail purchaser.
This warranty is TRANSFERABLE by the original retail purchaser to a subsequent owner of the product during the first ten (10) years of warranty coverage. In the event of the transfer of this warranty, the warranty period shall be ten (10) years from the date of original installation. The warranty only applies to manufacturing defects in the products. Steel products are not warranted against rust.
Any claim under this warranty must be communicated via website or in writing and sent to Amerimax Exterior Home Products, 303 Research Drive, Suite 400, Norcross, Georgia 30092 and received within 30 days of discovering a claimed defect. This written notification must include a description of the defect, the address of the installed product, plus the date of installation, and the name and address of the contractor who installed the product. Amerimax shall have the right to inspect each claim. Any repairs or alterations to the product prior to said inspection may void the warranty.
If Amerimax determines that said claim is covered by this warranty, Amerimax shall have one hundred twenty (120) days to remedy the defect as follows:
1) For valid warranty claims during the first (1) year after original installation, Amerimax, at its sole option, will repair, refinish, or replace the defective product at no cost to you;
2) For valid warranty claims from the second (2) year through the fifteenth (15) year after original installation (or through the tenth (10) year after original installation in the event of a transfer of this warranty), Amerimax, at its sole option, will repair, refinish, or replace the defective product, but you will be responsible for any labor and product shipping charges; and
3) For valid warranty claims from the sixteenth (16) year through the life of the warranty, Amerimax will refund to you, if you are the original retail purchaser, 50% of the original wholesale cost of the defective item.
Amerimax shall not be liable for any shipping or labor costs to remedy the defective products following the first year of the warranty period.
Amerimax does not warrant the qualifications of the person installing its products and this warranty does not cover installation or any consequences of improper installation. This warranty does not cover damage due to normal weathering; chalking; fading; corrosion due to atmospheric contamination, chemical fumes, salt; vandalism; accident; misuse; improper care or any act of God, explosions or other causes beyond the control of Amerimax.
The owner must follow the Care and Cleaning Instructions outlined on the back of this page. Failure to follow such instructions may void this warranty.
Amerimax does not warrant damages due to aggressive environmental conditions. This includes, but not limited to, black streaking.
The warranty only applies to manufacturing defects in the products. Steel products are not warranted against rust.
This warranty shall not be valid or enforceable unless it is registered with Amerimax within thirty (30) days after completion of the original installation of the product covered hereby and on the registration form attached hereto.
Amerimax reserves the right to discontinue and make changes in any of its products. In the event that products covered by this warranty are not available, Amerimax shall have the right to substitute products that in Amerimax’s sole discretion are of comparable grade, quality, or price. This limited warranty only covers products erected within the continental United States, Canada, and Mexico.
THE LIMITED WARRANTY IS MADE IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WRITTEN AND ORAL, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, AND AMERIMAX EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. THE PURCHASER’S RIGHTS ARE LIMITED TO THE TERM OF THIS WARRANTY. The foregoing shall constitute Amerimax’s sole and exclusive liability in connection with the purchase of the products. Amerimax shall not be liable for any incidental, special or consequential damages.
This warranty is governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, excluding its conflict of law rules.
If you have a warranty claim, contact the Alumawood® Dealer from whom you purchased your Amerimax Shade Structure as they are near you and familiar with your purchase and/or project. If you cannot determine the name of the Alumawood® Dealer, please call 1-800-448-4033 for assistance. The dealer’s service representative will help diagnose the problem and determine if the parts are covered under warranty.

Once we receive your online submission or written letter, an Alumawood® representative will respond to your claim within two working days.
Full Warranty – Duralum warrants that its Patio Covers are free from defects in material, workmanship and finish when installed with proper engineering and permitting, in accordance with the local United States building codes, as well as in accordance with installation instructions. The finish on the products will not peel, flake, blister, or chip under ordinary weather conditions or ordinary wear for the lifetime of the product, except as outlined in the “Exclusions & Limitations” section and except for the product components which are covered under a separate twenty-year limited warranty as provided under the “Twenty Year Limited Warranty” below.
Warranty is full transferable to all future owners of the property where the products covered under either of these warranties were installed.
What Duralum Will Do – Duralum shall have one hunderd twenty (120) days to repair any defects covered under this Full Warranty. In the event repair is not possible, Duralum will either replace the defective product, or refund the full purchase price of the product. Duralum reserves the right to discontinue or change the deign or color of any of its products. If for a reason the original product is not available, Duralum may substitute another product of comparable quality.
Limited Warranty – For a period of twenty (20 ) years after original installation, Duralum warrants that any insulated glass lites, laminated panels, 8″ skylights contained int he company’s products are free from defects in material & workmanship, except as provided below under “Exclusions & Limitations.”
What Duralum Will Do – Duralum shall have 120 days to repair any defects covered under this Limited Warranty. In the event repair is not possible, Duralum will either replace the defective component or refund the full purchase price of that component. During the first five years after installation of the product, Dualum will pay for any labor charges associated with the removal and installation of any defective component under this Limited Warranty. After the fifth year, the customer will be responsible for any labor and transportation charges in connection with the removal and installation of any defective component under this Limited Warranty. Duralum reserves the right to discontinue or change the design or color of any product. If for any reason the original product is not available, Duralum may substitute another product of comparable quality.
Exclusions & Limitations – Neither of these warranties covers any chipping, peeling, flaking, or blistering of the products as the result of damage of any kind resulting from faulty or improper installation, accidental or intentional damage, settling structural shrinkage or other distortion of the property structure, popping dur to expansion or contraction, acts of God, harmful chemicals (including harmful cleaning compounds), fumes or vapors, surface deterioration due to air pollution, “normal weathering”, condensation, mildew accumulation, impact of foreign objects, rust or corrosion of any components of the products, or the failure of the owner to provide reasonable maintenance of the product including periodic removal of dirt and pollution residue as necessary. Neither of these warranties covers fading of any painted finish due to normal weathering, or any rust of any components of the products, including but not limited to, screws and other fasteners, and any steel components. Also, no warranty applies if the product has been painted of the surface has been altered. “Normal weathering” is defined as the damaging effects of sunlight & the extremes of weather and atmosphere that may cause any colored surface to fade or become soiled or stained.
The degree to which normal weathering occurs depends on air quality, location & other local conditions. Fading of darker colors may occur more significantly than lighter colors in exposed sunlight and is considered “normal weathering”.
Any claim for breach of warranty shall be sent to: Duralum Products, Inc. 2485 Railroad Street Corona, CA 92880, within thirty (30) days of first discovering the claimed defect. The claim shall describe the defect, indicate the discovery date, and list the date and locations where product was installed as well as the name of the contractor who installed the product. Claim should include copies of both this warranty and the signed contract covering the work performed. Duralum shall then have a reasonable time to inspect the defect. This Warranty dated January 1, 2015 supersedes previous versions. How State Law Applies – These warranties give you specify legal rights. You may also have other rights that vary from state to state.
Product Registration – Although no registration is required, we recommend you register your warranty with Duralum Products Inc. on the website Duralum.com. Keep this warranty with your contract in case of a claim.
